The United Nations Food Program (UNFP) has stopped helping people in Gaza for now after someone shot at one of their cars. The car was clearly marked as a UNFP car and had permission to be there. It was coming back from helping people when at least ten bullets hit it near an Israeli military checkpoint. Thankfully, no one on the team got hurt.
This is the first time someone has directly shot at a UNFP car near a checkpoint during the ongoing fighting. This shows that helping people is getting more dangerous in the area. Groups trying to get food and other important help to people who need it are taking bigger risks because of the fighting.
The UNFP said this shooting was not okay and wants people to look into what happened. Right now, they are thinking about when it will be safe to start helping people in Gaza again.
