Israeli General Resigns After Gaza Operation Failure

Tehran, June 10 (MNA) Brigadier General Avi Rosenfeld, the commander of the Israeli military’s Gaza Division, resigned after failing to prevent an operation by Palestinian resistance groups from Gaza in October. His resignation follows Benny Gantz's exit from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war cabinet. Rosenfeld admitted in his resignation letter to the chief of staff that he "failed" to protect against the Palestinian https://rb.gy/aljyc7 Resistance’s Operation al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, 2023. He wrote, “I have decided to end my position as commander of the 143rd Division (the Gaza Division) as part of my responsibility as a commander.” This operation, led by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, was a response to Israel's severe restrictions on Gaza, cutting off essentials like fuel, electricity, food, medicine, and water for over two million residents. Following this, Israel launched a heavy assault on Gaza, resulting in over 37,000 Palestinian civilian deaths and 84,494 injuries.https://rb.gy/02duw8
